Macquarie University Health is Australia’s first fully integrated academic health sciences centre and is home to Macquarie University Hospital, Australia’s first university-owned teaching hospital; general practice; medical imaging; allied health and specialty clinics integrated with the groundbreaking medical research and teaching services of Macquarie University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences. We are looking for a dynamic and visionary medical leader who is keen to assist us in unlocking transformational clinical leadership at MQ Health. As the next Director, Medical and Surgical Services you will be responsible for medical and surgical leadership, medical oversight of clinical governance and maintenance of patient information across Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics. It will be essential for you to ensure appropriate structures are in place and communicated, and standards of clinical care, safety and resourcing are met.
Combining this part-time Director, Medical and Surgical Services role with clinical activities will enable you to balance your medical leadership and governance strengths with your discipline-specific interests in one organisation.     Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the capacity to effectively engage, influence, and collaborate with senior clinicians, executive leaders, external stakeholders and government bodies

    Demonstrated capacity to function as a strategic contributor within the clinical services executive leadership team and partner with members of the faculty executive leadership team in a complex, integrated healthcare environment, fostering a collaborative culture and operational excellence

    Comprehensive understanding of contemporary clinical governance frameworks and a deep commitment to embedding a proactive culture of safety, quality improvement, innovation and evidence-based practice
