The Macquarie MD is a four-year graduate-entry medical course that integrates applied medical sciences with clinical sciences, professionalism and research. You’ll study within MQ Health – Australia’s first university-led fully integrated academic health sciences centre.
You’ll learn to be patient-centred and safety focused, culturally responsive, globally aware and equipped to work within increasingly digital health systems. From day one, you’ll engage in clinical learning and be part of a small and highly supported student community, and experience structured Australian and international clinical placements.
For specific enquiries about the Macquarie MD, contact us at [email protected].
Dr Janani Mahadeva, a graduate of the University of Sydney and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, joined MQ Health in 2017 after completing basic physician trainee at the Royal North Shore Hospital. Actively involved in the Macquarie MD, she serves as the Stage 1 Lead, where she convenes the Clinical Practice unit for first-year students and supervises medical students rotating through her practice. Dr Mahadeva is involved in research on learning health systems and various aspects of primary care. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, and her special interests are chronic disease management, paediatrics and mental health. She also leads the Quality Improvement initiative within MQ Health General Practice to improve patient outcomes.
